The world of romance, adventure, and political intrigue of Renaissance England comes to Michigan City’s Barker Hall in the dinner theater presentation of “The Queens”, April 13 at 6 PM.

Presented in full Elizabethan costume the play depicts the political and family struggle over the throne of England between the two cousins Elizabeth I of England and Mary Queen of Scots. The drama presented through dialogue, music and dance culminates on the eve of the Scottish Queen's beheading by order of Elizabeth I. The event is presented by the Metamorphosis Traveling Theater Company, Community Arts Society of Trinity and Great Lakes Catering. The play, written by Ken Brelsford, features Jeanoma Babcock and Judith Joseph as the family feuding monarchs. Tickets are $35 per person and are available through payable through PayPal. Reservations may also be made by calling Trinity Church, 21. Barker Hall is located at corner of Franklin St. and Sixth Street, Michigan City, Indiana. The theater event is preceded by a Pork n’ Fork Renaissance Feast provided by Great Lakes Catering. The menu includes roast pork, spiced apples, vegetables, and a choice of wine, beer, or soft drinks. Chicken breast with apricot sauce will be available as an alternative for those who do not eat pork. The meal will end with an Elizabethan toast of Mead Punch. The audience is encouraged to join in the theatrical event by wearing Elizabethan style hats or costumes. “Michigan City’s Barker Hall is the perfect venue for this event” says Doug Moon, performance coordinator for the Metamorphosis Traveling Theater Company.
